Because the Skew Vega Engine is designed to run securely on either a third party cloud or an in-house server farm, our clients can decide which part of their budget (cap ex or op ex) to utilise.
We also provide a site specific customisation service that enables you to get the solution that fits your unique requirements perfectly.
Our software design principles have come from our many years of working on large and small scale projects in investment banking, and energy trading and risk management.
Here’s what makes us unique:
- Evolutionary approach: During our implementations we prefer to move data across market by market, where appropriate. We see the value in delivering small things often rather than big things infrequently.
- No leading (bleeding) edge fads: We only use proven technology that works and every technology decision is made on a case by case basis. We don’t subscribe to what is “trendy” for the sake of it. “Trendy” technology may well prove itself to be good, but it has to work hard to earn a place in our development toolbox.
- Defensive programming: We take data validation seriously. This rule means that the code is much cleaner and “just works”. We don’t spend our time writing workarounds for bad data.
- Scalability: Our code is designed from first principles with the Skew Vega® Engine to scale up as much as the client needs. We can scale from one server to thousands on demand.
- Testing: We apply unit tests and regression tests to all our code. A new version must demonstrably give the same numbers.
- Model validation: All of our models have validation documents and we can provide on demand raw simulation data for independent validation teams.
